Fredric M Tobis, MD, Principal, Center for Physician Leadership (CPL)

Leveraging his experience as a cardiologist, physician executive, healthcare consultant and author, Fred has coached physician leaders and executives in building strong teams that consistently improve quality and contain costs in a variety of healthcare enterprises. He was one of the first physician leaders to integrate a private community-based specialty practice with a prestigious University tertiary care center and create a successful, integrated, cardiovascular service line in a highly competitive, mature urban market.

Fred has worked with healthcare leaders throughout the United States. He models and coaches the interpersonal qualities of leadership in practical ways that physicians and healthcare executives can readily apply in their work.

While serving as chairman of Washington State's Eighth District Healthcare Advisory Committee, he facilitated input from a variety of local healthcare leaders into consensus recommendations for national healthcare policy. He is the author of "The Healthcare Crisis: The Urgent Need for Physician Leadership."

Fred is an ICF Certified Coach as well as a Certified Physician Development Coach™. He is a member of the International Coaching Federation and the Association of Physician Speakers, Experts, and Consultants.

Ashley Wendel, MA, CMC, PDC

Principal

Ashley Wendel, MA, CMC, PDC, Principal, Center for Physician Leadership (CPL)Ashley works with physicians and healthcare teams to develop higher levels of performance and to enhance professional fulfillment. She acts as a Physician Executive Coach, working with physicians in positions of leadership within their hospitals or health systems who are looking to build their core leadership skills in communication, team leadership, conflict resolution, EQ development, influence, and expert management of change. Organizationally, Ashley applies many of the human performance principles she practiced while coaching Fortune 100 executives as a senior consultant for Accenture. She helps executives work together with their physicians to develop and implement a physician leadership strategy that supports the organization's strategic goals and enhances integration of care.

Ashley is a contributing writer on FreelanceMD, as well as a national speaker on the topic of Physician Professional Skill Development and Physician Career Transition. She is a chapter author to an ACHE published book entitled, “Getting It Done: Experienced Healthcare Leaders Reveal Field-Tested Strategies for Clinical and Financial Success”, with a chapter on “Coaching Healthcare Teams to Improved Performance”.
